What If I Had A Better Imagination ?

If I had a better imagination, I would probably find better things to do with programming than handle financial transactions and media and documents and such. Instead I sit here in a cubicle staring at 2d screens, writing programs that automate finanancial transactions.

When I was growing up in the 1950s and 1960s, I read Boys Life and Mechanics Illustrated which gave us wild ideas of what would happen in the future. Wow, things were going to be great !

Now of course it is that future that I had read about, and most of us programmers spend time helping corporations figure out how to keep track of their money and transactions and documents and related. Not at all as glamarous as I figured it mighta been.

Brave new world huh ? It must be Friday afternoon because I'm thinking somewhere I musta missed something. There has to be more than this that we can do with all this raw computing power and talent

There are weapons of course, I could always build weapons, that requires a lot of programming talent. Or games. ........... Nah.

Wish I hadn't torn up my shoulders last week falling down so many times trying to learn to snowboard. A good bike ride would be nice right about now.
